About Me
About me
Beginning the violin when I was 4 years old, I don’t remember a time when I was not playing music. Since my mother, violinist, provided me with students at age 16, I’ve gotten the chance to build a career in teaching. Having come such a long way since then in both my educational background and my experience, I am the happiest when I am sharing my knowledge with other young talents. My teachers and mentors are the reason I am the violinist, musician, and person I am today and I am passionate about being able to give the same thing to my students.
Why I teach
My mother, who is also a violinist, helped me get my first student at 16 years old. In the midst of pursuing both a Masters and Doctorate, I had the opportunity to teach many violinists along Eastern United States and Canada. Many of my students from the New York region have received perfect scores in NYSSMA, The New York State Music Association.
One of the things I love the most about teaching is watching my students grow and develop as violinists from week to week. My favorite students are those who show a large amount of interest and passion outside of lessons. I love when my students ask questions because this shows attentiveness and curiosity.
Methods of Teaching
Suzuki method is my #1. I also use the Barbara Barbara books to find other pieces outside of the Suzuki. My students are always playing at least 2 pieces.
